Academic culture
Academic culture can be the environment of the students and the way that student study. This kind of culture differs from country to country due to education system practiced.
When started to study in the university, I firstly studied in my home country Qatar it's noticed that the way teaching differs where students choose their subjects leading them to finish an amount of expected hours in the major. It is totally different in the UK , the university gives a schedule with the subject from your major and let you finish them throughout the year. However, getting shocked is defined according to UKCISA (2012) " the impact of moving from a familiar culture to one which is unfamiliar" it did not affected any shocks comparing because in Qatar it used the same way for teaching in school, and it is positive way for some students. The unusual that it is positive in the academic culture in UK , that they are always known of the restriction with the deadlines , where it is an important rule in English universities either you hav a good excuse with evidence, you will be excused (university of east anglia 2012) . So it is different in the usage of education system and some considerable aspects.

Marketing
Marketing is much known in recent days. According to Chartered institute of marketing (2013) ‘Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably’ which is in other words, without marketing there will be no connections between customer, market and seller. Therefore, trying to be important in the business life, marketing major is chosen to study.
Studying in the UK is a step for me to get started with actual study because in Qatar they lack the support to marketers. Marketers in Qatar are not very known and not showing the value of this courses to be well-educated in universities. UK universities use reccomendation to furthur develop the marketing mix module or other similar molels and these models helps internationally the marketing strategies ( Rakesh Kumar 2009). Consequently, the study in a country that real appreciate all business fields is more supportive than other.

Traditions in the UK
Cultures are mostly tend to have something special that show that it is unique, many people when thinking of the United Kingdom they think of numerouse that express Britain. One of the most important thing known about UK is the British tea. In this blog I will talk about this intresting habit that can be considered a tradtion in the UK.
For the hard workers , drinking tea in the afternoon time, is the one called high tea. Acording to Afternoontea.co.uk (2012) ' Tea consumption increased dramatically during the early nineteenth century and it is around this time that Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford is said to have complained of "having that sinking feeling" during the late afternoon' cosequently, it is as important as the main meal of the day, this high tea was mostly in the ladies environments and the dinner enjoyed in houses at seven or eight in the evening. It also can be taken with the meats, bread and cakes. Therefore, ' The serving of afternoon tea usually takes place in hotels, cafes and tea shops from about 3pm until 5pm, starting with savoury fingers, followed by scones and jam and a selection of cakes.' (Katie Fitzpatrick 2012) , so it it not only maintained at homes. Moreover, it kind of culture and historical habit in the UK

Sports in UK
Its known what happened in London 2012 , the
olympic games. The olympic games in london made many effects to the country and
introduced many sport all together.
theuksportsnetwork.com (2012)
Ireland:
In Irland there are many sports played , such as Football, Rugby , and
Hocky (irelandlogue.com 2013). the irish people concerns about variey of games
possibly due to their ideas of enjoying with flexability and health. Moreover,
it a possitive point for their body. although they have all these sports ,
there is a traditional game curling/hurling where the players hit a ball with a
stick to score a goal based on some rules from many international sports.
England:
Popular sports in England are football and rugby ,
where the football showed many professtional player for example , David Beckham
was a well known professtional player and other football clubs, I think that
English people tend to play football because it was played very much in their
history. Whereas, rugby not much popular as the football in England and
internationally.
Scotland:
In scotland it not very different than England , as they scottish also
tending to play football and more intrested in this sport. On the other hand,
ther are games intrested in Rugby, and Golf (talentscotland.com 2012).
Consequently, rugby and football are the two most popular sports in UK
and depends on the background of the nation and what they love and like to
play.

Crime and punishment
Crime & Punishment
1) Should the death penalty exist as a punishment for murder or terrorism?
the equity was greatly strong these days. There was either life sentence in prison or execution. This punishments should be for murderers kilss and get killed , human rights organisations are wanting to change this . 'Execution permanently removes the worst criminals from society and is safer for prison guards, fellow inmates and the rest of us than long term or permanent incarceration' Capitalpunishmentuk.org (2013)
2) Should the main purpose of prison be punishment or rehabilitation?
Well , it is supposed that the main purpose for the prison is rehabilitation the person to not repeat it in the community. Otherwise , the same person will repeat it and the person should be stopped immegiatly at its time. Prisons have to have a kind of teachers deal with the criminals and rehabilate them .
3) What is the best way to deal with juvenile crime such as joy-riding, Vandalism and graffiti?
For the joy-riding , there are many way to deal with is putting larg amount of fines , suspending the car from to be drived in streets. if caught more than 2 times, it goes to the government legally and the owner do not have the right to take it back.
4) Is it ever right for political activists to break the law?
As the political activists are there to change the administration arrangements, they dont have the right that they violate the law. At the same time at times they break laws they suppose they are not honest and they need to be changed .
5) How strict should the law be with people who drink and drive?
These people who drink and drive are mostly who make accedints, in many countries they are only fined , the have to be taken and be sitted in some place to solve their issue of drinking , and make them thinking of the consequences that may happen if they drink and drive.
6) Which is the more serious problem in your county tax evasion or social security fraud?
In Qatar, we do not have evasion tax because we do not pay any tax. The social security fraud appears to be common in many other countries. Usually who commits this kind of crime face low income problem. So social security fraud have to be the one more serious and take it in a justice way in the community.

7) Should the police have the right to stop and search you in the street without a warrant?
the police must have a warrant , because if they have this right to stop and search some bad side of the police officers can just search for nothing and not suspecting , and the people do have many privacies even the police officer do not have to search in .

LONDON RIOTS
London Riots is something that I have not heard or knew about because it might have been shown on TV or newspaper and I am not one of those kinds of people that are interested in daily news .
- What is a riot ?
A riot is an act of protest if managed group of people then the order breaks and change into ruin other people and government possessions .
- Why does a riot happen ?
It can happen because the people’s opinions are opposite to another decision of something in the country , or the people are not satisfied with something and want help .
- Why did the London riot happen ?
It all started in 2011 when a black man in a suspicious circumstances was killed by the police in a protest for justice to his family as claimed in many news after that the family of the man were getting out to protest in appropriate way and it was a changed to a riot by others .Unsworth said: "We try not to be too prescriptive, but yes we have said actually that they're not protesters they're clearly rioters and looters. They are more descriptive terms and we should try and be as accurately descriptive as we can be." (Halliday 2011) , in other word the people who went out are not to protest they went out to riot . Moreover , after the riot was still going on as a looping act , "The youths had begun attacking police patrol car before the TV crew were targeted and they were withdrawn in the interests of their own safety " ( BBC 2011) in other word , youths had taken it an opportunity to make a riot , and crash shops and the people were running to collect goods .

Education systems
Education system in the United Kingdoms and State of Qatar
How Student are educated differs according to the country itself . Curriculum, nationalities, facilities, holidays, treatment, segergation and many other qualities differ from each school to another. Where if we were to compare between the UK and my home country, Qatar, the diffrences are numerous.
In Qatar there is two kinds of schools, the private school and the public schools. In most private schools it is a mixed gender school whereas in public schools boys are separated from girls . However private schools can cost very much , and more expensive .
Firstly , both public and private schools are very strict on uniforms. All students have to wear the right and suitable uniform, but in the UK students tend to wear what the student prefer with few regulations . On the otherhand there are some differences in the holidays given to the pupils or to the students , in the UK all universities and schools have the Christmas holiday in December and the Ester after a while , my home country it depends on the schools , if its private it will follow the british holiday system and also Eid holiday which is twice a year. In private schools most teachers comes from the UnitedKingdom. In Public schools the teachers can be from all over the world , either Egyptian, Qatari and Indian ,but mostly Arabian.
However, to graduate in Qatar students should complete 12 years of education , 6 years in primary, 3 years secondary and finally 3 years in tertiary whereas in the UK they have to complete 13 years of education and graduate with A levels. This affect other national students whereby they have to take the IFP ( international foundation program ) to reach 13 years of education.
As a conclution there are many diffrences and a few similarities in the education systems between UK and Qatar . These differences are all about uniforms , holidays , facilities and many other things i discussed.
